Resilience fuels creativity
turning struggles into powerful art
El Susi سوسي is a Stavanger-based rapper, music producer, and videographer originally from Gaza, Palestine. Having survived displacement and six months under the genocide in Gaza before finding refuge in Norway through the ICORN City of Refuge program in 2024, his artistic voice is deeply shaped by lived experience.
Beginning music as a teenager in Gaza, El Susi developed his craft in makeshift studios, creating songs that spoke to resilience, injustice, and the realities of life under siege. His sound fuses rap with Arabic melodies, traditional instrumentation, and electronic elements, bridging cultural roots with global influences.
Now at an early stage of his Nordic career, El Susi is building long-term collaborations across borders. Since relocating to Norway, he has performed at Mela Oslo, VestenBreden Festival, Arts of Democracy (Stavanger and Bodø2024), and in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden. His practice is grounded in socially engaged music, dedicated to strengthening understanding, resilience, and participation in the Nordic region while amplifying the voices of those silenced by war and exile.
